Fletcher criteria for GIST.

Size >5cm (Most important prognostic indicator)
Metastasis to the liver or surrounding
Mitotic index >5/50HPF.

This criteria is used as in GIST the same cells can have malignant and benign course and hence cytology is of no use to make the distinction.
